NITRATES IN GROUNDWATER****
The above data was taken from ongoing reviews by the Suffolk County Water Authority's Summaries of the test results for "The Bridge"

(The SFGTF is awaiting the sampling results for June/Sept. 03 --J.P.)

< = less than

ND = not detected

*"1998" ( "1st baseline") = The first round of testing (baseline) of original Monitoring Wells before golf course was built.

** "7/00" ("1st baseline") = Not a true baseline as the golf course was already built and chemical laden sod, and chemicals had been applied to the golf course when these additional Monitoring Wells were installed.
"12/00" (2nd baseline") = Not a true baseline as the golf course was already built and chemicals applied

*** "6.6" = exceeded the response trigger of 5.5

**** Ambient level of nitrates in the Noyac Area is "< 0.2" or ND (Yet, the town will allow up to "10ppm" - from pristine to gross degradation!
(see: "NOTE") The golf course developer's turf consultant had predicted an increase of 0-0.5 mg/l. This, as you can see by the above figures, has not been accurate. )

**** NOTE: The Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA) even changes its filters on public wells at "5ppm"
